“Our relationship with Occam is a partnership. We work very closely with the engineers, and we talk with our sales guy weekly. The staff is very responsive, working closely with us on any issues that come up. When we need the equipment to do something it doesn’t do, they go back and figure out how to do it and come back to us with a solution. We’ve also been able to help Occam, working with them to find bugs, find fixes, and things like that. It has been a great success.”

As we reach the mid-point of 2007, I am pleased to report that Occam continues to maintain a steady upward trajectory fueled by your ongoing successes.
We expanded our product line with new products like the BLC 6450 10GbE Aggregation Blade and the RTC 4033 cabinets. We added new features and capabilities to our existing products so that we can provide you with a complete line of full-featured products that will help you to better serve your customers and keep your company competitive.
Over the last 18 months, we acquired 114 new customers. From the Carolinas to California, from Canada to the Caribbean, telcos are joining the Ethernet/IP revolution and are choosing Occam to help them navigate the transition. To date we have shipped more than 1.35M ports, and that number continues to grow as more and more telcos make the move to Ethernet and IP to lower costs, improve efficiencies, and add new revenue generating services.
We grew our employee base in every region during 2006 to ensure that we are well equipped to provide you with the best products, solutions and services we can. Over the last 18 months we have added more than 56 new employees in a variety of positions ranging from executives to interns from customer service to operations. All to make sure that we have the right balance of people to serve your needs.
We’ve outgrown our current Santa Barbara facility and will move to a new, expanded corporate headquarters in the coming months that is triple the size of our current facilities. The new facility will include a cutting edge training facility designed to make your training visits as productive as possible. And, our R&D department will have the latest product development labs and test equipment to help our engineers continue to develop the innovative products for which Occam is known.
What’s fueling this continued growth in our products, employees, and customers? We believe it is your recognition that our approach to delivering high-speed services like IPTV and video on demand is the best. Thank you for endorsing Occam and our continued focus on developing products and solutions that are simple, flexible and scalable.

New Telco Leaders Join the Leading Edge.
Utah’s largest independent telco, UBTA-UBET Communications, has selected the Occam BLC 6000 Solution to assist with deploying advanced services to new homes under construction in UBTA-UBET’s service area. UBTA-UBET is deploying BLC 6312 Optical Line Termination blades, BLC 6252-02 ADSL2Plus and POTS with Gigabit Ethernet blades, BLC 6440-01 Gigabit Optical Ethernet Transport blades and BLC 6640-01 Subscriber Trunk Gateway blades.
According to the telco’s Chief Operations Officer, Jeff Goodrich, “After completing a thorough RFP process, the firm selected Occam Networks based on the company’s ability to meet our needs for POTS, DSL, T1 and FTTH today, with the goal of providing IPTV and complete Triple Play services in the future.” For more information.
The Local Internet Service Company (LISCO), a leading competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC) serving in the Fairfield, Iowa area has begun purchasing Occam’s BLC 6000 Fiber products as part of the CLEC’s strategy to overbuild Fairfield with fiber to the home (FTTH). When the overbuild is complete, LISCO will be able to offer Triple Play services (the combination of voice, data and video) to approximately 4,000 residential subscribers.
Lance Yedersberger, president of LISCO, said, "After reviewing the offerings of multiple access equipment providers, we selected Occam Networks. Occam demonstrated the best ability to deploy Gigabit Ethernet to the home. We believe Active Ethernet is the optimal technology in terms of stability and flexibility to offer new, advanced broadband services to our subscribers.” For more information . . . |

OPAN going strong after five years, helping customers stay competitive.
In 2002 Occam founded the Occam Packet Access Networks (OPAN) alliance, the telecommunications industry’s first multi-company partnership program focused exclusively on delivering comprehensive, interoperable and easily supported next-generation solutions in the access network that minimize deployment, operational and maintenance costs for service providers. The first two companies to join the alliance were Syndeo and Nuera. Today, OPAN has more than 31 members in a variety of market segments. Our OPAN partners provide IP phones, video phones, IPTV/IP Video monitoring and management solutions, set top boxes, streaming servers, VoIP gateways, DSL products, softswitch platforms, customer premise equipment (CPE), video services platforms, digital headends, voice applications and servers, IP-PBX VoIP solutions, content protection solutions, content provisioning and distribution products, security systems and more. For the past five years our customers have been enjoying the benefits of the program, finding that the partners work more like a team than like separate equipment manufacturers. And, the interoperability testing that OPAN partners conduct helps make our customers’ jobs much easier.
Visit the OPAN web page for a complete listing of OPAN partners. If your company is interested in joining the alliance, contact Clive Hallatt at challatt@occamnetworks or call 408.719.2016.
