"We are replacing outdated equipment from another vendor with Occam's BLC products as part of our strategy to provide Ethernet services for our business customers, as well as expand our current capacity for all customers. Big bandwidth, that is. Last month Jamie Sutton of Pineland Telephone in Metter, Georgia was the proud winner of a 1GB USB drive. Now, he can take his data wherever he goes, simply and efficiently. Just like the Occam BLC.
Jamie commented, "Thanks to Occam for delivering the latest technology to us via their webinars. As always, the webinars have valuable and pertinent information."

In Their Own Words: Alpine Communications
"We've had great success working with Occam in the past and are enthusiastic to continue our relationship as we implement our strategy of moving to an all-FTTP network. Active provides a dedicated 'pipe' that provides full bi-directional bandwidth. As services evolve to include bandwidth intensive applications like video, we believe having intelligent devices at the edge of the network is advantageous for the following reasons: multicast streaming, ease of management and troubleshooting, flexibility in providing new services and low first subscriber costs."
Chris Hopp, General Manager

The CEO Connection

As we approach the end of the year, I'd like to update you on some important recent company events. After you made it clear that you needed and wanted both Point-to-Point Gigabit Ethernet and GPON solutions in our BLC 6000 family, our engineering team went to work developing an Occam GPON solution. The result? At TelcoTV we introduced a new line of Occam-developed GPON products that include the BLC 6322 GPON OLT and the ON 2400 Series of GPON ONTs. In true Occam style, the engineering team focused on developing a highly differentiated product that can do more — for less — than other solutions. Our GPON products are built on the new Occam Packet Engine, a high-speed packet processor with the power to provide more than just GPON connectivity. The Occam Packet Engine controls the data flows for GPON services, delivering an unmatched tool for building a true service rather than just a connection.
In our efforts to provide you with a broad GPON product offering, we also announced our intentions to purchase certain assets of GPON innovator Terawave Communications. We finalized the asset acquisition on October 27, and we're extremely pleased to have acquired excellent technology and to have added broad expertise in the PON market to our company. In addition to high-performance GPON MAC and PHY intellectual property, the asset acquisition provides us with a group of world-class engineers, operational staff, marketing professionals and a seasoned support team. This new addition to the company not only broadens our product line, but also substantially broadens our market reach. We are all very excited about the new technology and the new opportunities it affords us.
I'm also pleased that we recently completed our Audit Committee review of the company's prior reported revenues and filed our 10K for fiscal year 2006. At the conclusion of the review, the Audit Committee confirmed that, while there were errors in the timing of revenue recognition, all prior reported revenue was validated as already collected or deemed realizable. With the filing of the 10K we have complied with all NASDAQ Marketplace Rules. We are delighted to have completed these procedures and to be back working on growing a successful company. I thank you for your continued support during this past 6 months, and I'm rewarded by your continued faith in the company. It's your support and belief that has enabled Occam to grow and succeed, and it's you that will keep us moving forward.
Bob Howard-Anderson
President and CEO, Occam Networks

Hot New Products
New Occam GPON products deliver on-demand Triple Play at Full GPON Line Rate.
Occam has broadened its fiber portfolio with its first-ever GPON products. The company recently announced the new BLC 6322 OLT GPON Blade and the ON 2440 series of GPON Optical Network Terminators (ONTs). Occam GPON products are built upon the Occam Packet Engine, developed specifically to support the massive Ethernet and IP processing that Triple Play networks will require. The products easily integrate into the company's flagship BLC 6000 Access Platform and merge 10GigE, GigE, ADSL2Plus, DS1, HPNA, RF video, Ethernet, VoIP, POTS, and GPON functionality into a single integrated system with a unified backhaul, a single set of shelves and enclosures, all managed by OccamView EMS. And the BLC 6000 with GPON supports full line-rate bandwidth for every GPON port simultaneously, both inter-blade and into the backhaul, unlike other access systems that layer GPON onto older, ATM-based technology. Click here to find out more about the industry's most innovative GPON products.

Occam Participates in FSAN-Sponsored GPON Interoperability Test
Telcordia organizes event; fifteen manufacturers participate.
Occam and 14 other manufacturers recently participated in a GPON Interoperability Test sponsored by the Full Service Access Network (FSAN) group and organized by Telcordia in cooperation with Corning Cable Systems and Shenick Network Systems. Held in Piscataway, New Jersey on October 29 through November 1, the test event demonstrated the interoperability of GPON equipment at the service layer in a full ONT Management & Control Interface (OMCI) context. Detailed test cases were carried out to verify the provisioning of a number of Ethernet flow-handling scenarios in a multi-vendor environment. Test participants included 15 GPON equipment and integrated circuit device manufacturers: Adtran, Alcatel-Lucent, BroadLight, Cambridge Industries Group, Comtrend, Conexant, Ericsson, Freescale, Huawei, Ikanos, Nokia Siemens Networks, Occam Networks, PMC-Sierra, TXP Corp. and ZTE.

Joining the Leading Edge
New telco leaders join the Leading Edge.
The number of Occam customers continues to grow, as two new telcos join the Leading Edge. Alpine Communications, based in Elkader, Iowa, has selected the Occam BLC to upgrade its network and provide advanced Triple Play FTTP services. When the upgrade is completed, the Alpine network will be the largest FTTP deployment in Iowa. Alpine purchased the Occam BLC 6312 OLT Blades and ON 2342 ONT Active Fiber Triple Play Gateways.
Ironton Telephone Company of Central Pennsylvania also joined the Leading Edge this month when they selected the Occam BLC System to upgrade its DSL network. Through the DSL network upgrade, Ironton will increase capacity as well as add new capabilities to its service offering. The telco purchased Occam BLC 6214 ADSL2plus blades with Gigabit Ethernet and integrated splitters, and BLC 6440-01 Optical Packet Transport Blades.

TelcoTV Wrap Up
New GPON products take center stage.
With 2800 attendees and more than 160 exhibitors, this year's TelcoTV was more successful than ever. Occam selected the show as the venue for unveiling its new line of GPON products. After months of development, the new BLC 6322 GPON OLT and ON 2440 Series of GPON ONTs were a hit with visitors to the Occam booth who were very interested to see what the new products had to offer.
Occam representatives, Juan Vela and Dov Zimring, joined industry leaders from other well-respected companies as panelists in sessions in the Technology and Business Tracks. Both sessions were heavily attended with more than 80 attendees per session, demonstrating the phenomenal growth and importance of the IPTV industry.
On Tuesday evening of the conference, Occam hosted approximately 60 Occam customers at a special event held at the Georgia Aquarium. Customers were treated to dinner and drinks in the Cold Water Quest area of the Aquarium, dining in the company of curious animals such as Australian leafy sea dragons, beluga whales, giant Pacific octopus, garibaldi damselfish and Japanese spider crabs, as well as a troop of California sea lions. Occam customer, Mike Deller of South Carolina-based Comporium, was heard to say, “Thanks for putting together a first class evening at the Georgia Aquarium.” Everyone in attendance seemed to share his enthusiasm.
Visitors to the Occam booth had the opportunity to register for a chance to win an all expense paid weekend getaway to Santa Barbara including the use of a customized Occam Orange BMW during the weekend. We had lots of entrants, but only one lucky guy took home the prize. Congratulations to Shane McCann of Wisconsin's Marquette-Adams Communications who is soon to be seen enjoying the sights, relaxing at the beach and cruising in Occam Orange.
