Occam Networks reported 75% revenue growth in 2006, with $68.6 million in annual revenue. And its net loss shrank nearly 80% last year to $1.9 million.

The broadband loop carrier (BLC) vendor added more than 64 customers last year, upping its customer count nearly 50% to more than 200 customers today. It has also shipped more than 1 million ports to date.

In the first nine months of last year, Occam shipped 201,000 BLC DSL ports, putting it in ninth place in a market led by Ericsson (with nearly 2.3 million ports), Huawei Technologies (with 1.6 million) and Alcatel (with 1.4 million).

The company prides itself on the simplicity of its pure-play Ethernet IP platform, claiming quick and easy installation of its products and helpful troubleshooting tools. Occam’s gear is sold in the United States through a variety of resellers such as Goldfield Telecom and Falcon Communications.

In its tenth consecutive quarter of revenue growth, Occam reported $20.1 million in fourth-quarter revenue, an increase of 11% sequentially and 56% from a year earlier.
