Occam Announces GPON Product

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- Occam Networks® Inc. (NASDAQ: OCNW - message board), a leading broadband access supplier, today added powerful GPON to its BLC 6000 system. At the center of Occam's GPON is the Occam Packet Engine, developed specifically to support the massive Ethernet and IP processing that Triple Play networks will require. Using this chip, a single OLT blade switches packets at a multigigabit per second rate, performs deep packet inspection on millions of packets per second, manages 2,048 data streams, and delivers hardware-based QoS, security, and multicast management. Occam currently projects the new products to be available in Q1 2008, with the exception of the ON 2445, which is anticipated in Q2 2008.
