Occam Networks Helps Ganado Telephone Deploy FTTH

Occam Networks, a broadband access network supplier, today announced that Ganado Telephone Company has deployed its Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) access equipment as part of a multi-phase upgrade project.

Ganado is shortening itsr copper network loops and deploying Point-to-Point Ethernet Fiber to the Home (FTTH). This enables Ganado to offer a range of new, advanced broadband services.

"As a rural telecommunications service provider, it was critical that our access equipment company supplied us with both highly-reliable and easy to deploy products, as well as support us with highly professional service," said Bill Rakowitz, general manager of Ganado Telephone. "Occam succeeded on all counts. Occam's blades were easy to deploy, turned up very quickly and Occam's services team provided thorough, attentive and personalized service."

Ganado serves both business and residential customers as the area’s Incumbent Local Exchange Carrier (ILEC). So far, it has deployed broadband services over Occam's BLC 6252, BLC 6244 and BLC 6246 ADS2Plus and Lifeline POTS blades. Occam's BLC 6312 and ONT 2300 series Point-to-Point Ethernet products are used to address FTTP applications.

It is the parent company of YK Communications, Inc. that provides Internet, cellular telephone, DirecTV (News - Alert) and paging services.
