Occam Networks, a broadband access network supplier, has announced that Horry Telephone Cooperative has purchased its latest Outside Plant turnkey solution featuring the 4033 remote terminal cabinet equipment enclosure.

Horry Telephone Cooperative (HTC) is shortening copper loop lengths and pushing fiber closer to customer premises in preparation of offering new, advanced broadband services.

According to Occam, its remote terminal cabinet (RTC) 4033 Outside Plant (OSP) solution will increase the capacity of existing OSP service areas. In addition, Occam's broadband loop carrier 6000 platform will be used as direct replacements for competitive DSLAM equipment.

Joshua Norton, network engineering supervisor at HTC, said: "We selected Occam's RTC 4033 OSP solution for its compact design and its ability to support ethernet copper and fiber backhaul. The simplicity and versatility, coupled with easy-to-use craft working areas within the cabinet's compact footprint makes the 4033 an ideal fit for HTC."
