Equipment maker Occam Networks Inc. has landed two new customers for its GPON products.
Sogetel of Quebec, Canada and Marquette-Adams Telephone Cooperative based in Oxford, Wis., will deliver FTTP and advanced voice, data and video services using Occam’s multiservice access platform.
Sogetel, an independent telecommunications company, operates nearly 26,000 telephone access lines in four geographic areas of Quebec through an optical fiber network linking each sector with major urban centers.
Marquette-Adams provides triple-play services over Occam’s ADSL2Plus platform, but wants to offer more bandwidth as demand increases for HDTV and VoD.
Occam’s GPON product is based on the Occam Packet Engine, which supports the Ethernet switching and IP packet processing required for triple-play networks. The GPON equipment is made up of the BLC 6322 Optical Line Terminal blade and ON 2400 series Optical Network Terminals.
