Occam Networks, Inc. develops and markets a suite of Broadband Loop Carriers, innovative Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier platforms that enable telecommunications carriers to profitably deliver a variety of traditional and packet voice, broadband and IP services from a single, converged all-packet access network. Through the use of Internet Protocol and Ethernet technologies, Occam BLCs enable carriers to add the bandwidth they need to provide new, revenue-generating broadband services, while also lowering capital expenditures and operating expenses.
Target Markets
Occam Networks markets and sells its products to regional Bell operating companies (RBOCs) independent local exchange carriers (ILECs), competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) and independent operating companies (IOCs). The company focuses on both the local access market, a telecommunications market segment projected to continue to grow, as well as large regional carriers eager to rapidly upgrade their networks with the most advanced equipment and services.
