Occam Networks: 2002 Milestones


Occam Networks Inc. (www.occamnetworks.com) achieved important benchmarks in 2002 and the following summary outlines significant product developments, business milestones and other achievements for the year. We look forward to keeping you updated with more significant announcements in 2003.

  • Occam Networks equipment is in operation in the networks of more than 20 customers.
  • Occam Networks is engaged in trials at three of the top 25 U.S. ILECs.
  • Occam completed its merger with Accelerated Networks Inc. in May 2002, which was concurrent with an additional round of funding. Occam also completed an additional round of funding in Q4 2002.
  • In 2002 Occam Networks achieved revenues of $2.4 million, and showed an increase in revenue every quarter.
  • Occam has announced Comporium Communications Inc., Armstrong Telephone, Kaplan Telephone, Rural Telephone, and DTC part of its ‘Innovation Starts Here' program highlighting independent operating companies being successful through the use of advanced technology.
  • Occam Networks named Bob Howard-Anderson, CEO and president of the company and completed its management team with the addition of CFO Howard Bailey, Vice President of Operations Pete Patel and Vice President of North American Sales Art Schultz.
  • Occam Networks completed its first shipments of the BLC 1200 Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier platform that enables carriers to profitably deliver traditional or packetized voice, broadband and other Internet Protocol (IP) services from a single, converged, all-packet access network.
  • Occam Networks announced its new IP and Ethernet-based ‘triple play' platform for delivering voice, broadband data and video services.
