Occam Networks Elects Tom Frederick to Board of Directors
Frederick Brings Broad Operational and Financial Expertise to Occam Board
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – March 22, 2004 Occam Networks Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM), a supplier of innovative Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced that Tom Frederick, former Venrock Associates' general partner, has been elected to the company's board of directors.
“Tom has had a distinguished career in the information technology industry, holding a variety of key operational roles in a wide range of companies,” said Bob Howard-Andersen, president and CEO for Occam Networks. “His extensive experience and leadership will enhance our board and his broad financial expertise will help us to meet the requirements of the Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002.”
An active entrepreneur, investor and advisor, Frederick has more than 20 years experience in a wide variety of business principles ranging from global strategy to marketing to engineering. Before joining Venrock Associates, the venture capital arm of the Rockefeller family, he was a member of the Global Leadership Team of Arthur Andersen Business Consulting with responsibility for its Global Advanced Technology Practice. Prior to his tenure at Arthur Andersen, Frederick held executive positions in a number of public and privately held companies, including CP Software, Recognition International and Plexus Computers, Inc.

Frederick also serves on the board of Performance Retail. He holds an MBA from Stanford University , as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in science from the University of Illinois at Champaign/Urbana.
