Occam Networks Receives Updated ISO 9001:2000 Certification
ISO Re-Registration Illustrates Company's Commitment to Quality
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – September 8, 2004 Occam Networks Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM) , a supplier of innovative Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced the company has successfully completed its re-registration assessment by TUV America and has been certified and registered to ISO 9001:2000 standards through 2007. Occam received its first certification in 2001, a year after the company was founded.
“ISO 9001:2000 certification gives our customers greater confidence in the company because they know they are dealing with an organization that has an efficient quality management system with professional processes in place at all levels,” said Brian Reynolds, director of quality for Occam. “We continue to work on improving these processes and to develop other innovative methods that provide higher levels of customer satisfaction while meeting the cost, quality and time-to-market objectives that are vital to our continued growth.”
Occam also requires that each of its contract manufacturers is ISO 9001:2000 certified ensuring that strict quality processes are followed throughout the entire manufacturing chain. This extra attention to quality provides Occam customers with broad confidence in the company's products and services. The International Organization for Standards (ISO) is recognized as the industry leader in setting standards that ensure excellence in the quality and reliability of the goods and services manufactured and delivered by organizations around the globe. Released in December 2000, ISO 9001:2000 is the latest version of the international Quality Management Standard ISO 9001. This standard includes eight quality management principles: customer focused organization, leadership, involvement of people, process approach, systems approach to management, continual improvement, factual approach to decision making, and mutually beneficial supplier relationships.
