Occam Networks Partners with Falcon Communications to Expand Reseller Network

Newest Member of Occam Channel Sales Program will Offer BLC 6000 as Part of Video and VoIP Solutions

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – October 11, 2004– Occam Networks Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM) , a supplier of innovative Ethernet and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced that it has signed a value-added reseller (VAR) agreement with Falcon Communications, Inc., of Malden, Mo. Falcon will resell Occam's BLC 6000 Platform to telecommunications providers throughout the United States as an integral part of its broadband Video on Demand (VoD) and Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions.

“ We are seeing an increasing demand for video and VoIP services from our customers,” said Donald Cook, Falcon president and CEO. “We wanted a supplier that could deliver a comprehensive Gigabit Ethernet/IP solution that would simplify our video and VoIP deployments; give us greater flexibility in designing, building and supporting the networks these new services require; and provide us with a cost-effective solution.

“Occam has gained a strong following in the industry as the manufacturer who can deliver the best value and the best products. The addition of the BLC 6000 strengthens our portfolio and enables us to deliver more choice and greater value to our broadband customers.”

Falcon is the most recent reseller partner to join the Occam Channel Sales Program. This program was created to allow a select number of regional VARs and systems integrators with strong relationships with independent operating companies (IOCs) to offer the Broadband Loop Carrier (BLC) in the broadband solutions they deliver. The Occam Channel Sales Program provides IOCs with a clear benefit: a single partner that can design the network, deploy the equipment, and provide ongoing maintenance and support to the IOCs as they deploy VoD and VoIP solutions regionally or nationwide.

“Our BLC System is designed specifically to transform the current access network into an access network that can easily deliver next-generation services like video and VoIP,” said Russ Sharer, vice president of sales and marketing for Occam. “Falcon has the proven expertise in designing, deploying and supporting video and VoIP solutions that we look for in a reseller. Our partnership opens a new sales channel for each company and presents both companies with a great opportunity to generate new revenue.

Occam Networks' BLC 6000 System is based on the Intelligent Blade Interconnect Architecture (IBIA), which provides cost-effective low, medium or high capacity configurations. The ‘blades' are deployed in all configurations in both the remote terminal and the central office to enable universal sparing, lower cost-of-platform deployment and very simple training and operations management. The system allows carriers to distribute a high-capacity system in low-capacity environments and scale to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding subscriber base .
