Enhanced Telecommunication Corporation Chooses Occam BLC 6000 to Deliver Triple Play Services in Southeastern Indiana

Telco Will Deliver Voice, Video and High-Speed Data over IP and Ethernet Access Network

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Sept. 20, 2005 Occam Networks®  Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM), a supplier of innovative Ethernet- and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced that Enhanced Telecommunication Corporation (ETC) of Sunman, IN. has selected the Occam BLC 6000™ System to transition its existing access network to an Ethernet- and IP-based broadband access network.   The upgrade to the company's 5 thousand access lines will enable ETC to deliver Triple Play services – voice, IP video and high-speed data – to its subscribers in Southeastern IN.

“When ETC made the decision to transition its access network we held a ‘bake-off' among a variety of vendors,” said Mike Fledderman, vice president of outside operations for ETC.  “Our ‘shopping list' of requirements for the product we selected included ease of provisioning, product availability, a strong price/value comparison and a clear, comprehensive future direction.  Occam was the obvious leader in each category.”

ETC plans to upgrade its access network over a two-year transition period.  The Telco has begun installation of the BLC 6000 at four different sites and is delivering voice and broadband data.  It is also conducting video trials with a small number of subscribers.  During the initial phase of the BLC 6000 deployment, ETC will deliver voice and broadband data to its residential and commercial subscribers.  Once it has the ability to deliver all Triple Play services in place, ETC plans to add high-definition television (HD) and video on demand (VoD) services.

“ETC has selected a very robust product and a proven company to help them transition to an IP- and Ethernet-based access network,” said Russ Sharer, vice president of sales and marketing for Occam.  “Occam can help ETC create a modern, cutting edge access network that can deliver a full variety of services today, as well as enable them to remain competitive regardless of how communications services evolve in the future.”
