Occam Networks Names Gregory Dion, Sun Microsystems Veteran, Vice President of Operations
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – Mar. 21, 2005– Occam Networks Inc. (OTCBB: OCCM) , a supplier of innovative Ethernet- and IP-based loop carrier equipment to telecommunications companies worldwide, today announced the appointment of Gregory Dion to the position of vice president of operations. In his new position, Dion will be responsible for driving all operations strategies, objectives and initiatives, including new product introduction, product quality and reliability, design for manufacturability, high-volume contract manufacturing and supply chain strategy.

Dion joins Occam Networks from Sun Microsystems Inc. where he was most recently vice president of operations with responsibility for all aspects of operations for Sun's Volume Products Business Unit, a $4 billion business that included six major product lines with a total of more than 50 products produced by four major external manufacturing partners. In his 12-year career with Sun, Dion held a variety of executive and management positions, including senior director of manufacturing, director of materials and director of corporate supply planning and management.

Prior to his tenure at Sun Microsystems Inc., he held executive and management positions in operations at Wang Laboratories Inc. He holds a master's degree in business administration from Babson College and a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Massachusetts.
