BLC 6000 Blades

BLC 6150-01 Lifeline POTS with Gigabit Ethernet

The 6150-01 POTS blade provides 48 ports to deliver standard telephony Lifeline POTS services. The blade acts as a line access gateway, converting analog voice traffic to VoIP with MGCP signaling for transport through a BLC 6000 system.

The Gigabit Ethernet ports of the 6150-01 provide integral optical fiber transport for the system. At the central office, voice traffic can be handed directly to a Next Gen softswitch platform, or a BLC 6000 COT can provide standard TR-08/GR-303 connections to a Class 5 switch.

In addition to being the voice module for a full BLC 6000 loop carrier system, the 6150-01 can be deployed as a pure line access gateway. Multiple 6150-01 Blades can be interconnected for very high density deployment, and total aggregated traffic handed directly and efficiently to a Next Gen softswitch voice network.

The Gigabit Ethernet core of the 6150-01 is a high performance, wire speed Ethernet switch with 10 ports that may be used for optical (4) or copper (6) connections. The Ethernet ports may be used in any configuration or combination for network transport, for blade interconnection or even Ethernet service delivery. There are also standard T1 ports that can be used for copper base transport, customer services or connection to T1 devices.

The 6150-01 Blade can be deployed standalone as the BLC 6150-01 Assembly, or it can be used in high density deployments with other BLC 6000 Blades in the BLC 6012 high capacity chassis. The single blade BLC 6150-01 Assembly can be stacked with additional units to add capacity and hardware redundancy, and can be stacked with other BLC 6000 Assemblies for full system capabilities.
