The ON 2531 ONT provides intelligent GPON fiber access termination for the BLC 6000 multiservice access platform. Engineered for deployment in small-to-medium business (SMB) and community organization environments, the ON 2531 delivers the bandwidth to power a full array of bandwidth-intensive advanced business services, as well as video and telephony services.
Bandwidth for the Most Demanding Business Applications
The ON 2531 features an industry standard 2.5 Gbps downstream/1.2 Gbps upstream GPON optical uplink and two 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet subscriber ports to easily distribute various business and community organization services such as QoS, service level agreements (SLAs), security, VPNs and transparent LANs.
Unmatched Lifeline POTS and VoIP
The ON 2531 provides cost-effective delivery of multiple VoIP and lifeline telephony services. It supports both Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP) and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) signaling to deliver high-quality VoIP services to the business or home subscriber. The four telephone lines of the ON 2531 ONT provide voice service that is free of the distortion and echo that plague many IP-based voice services, delivering the high-quality voice service—including V.90 FAX and 56Kbps modem support—that providers have come to expect from an Occam product.
Simplified Configuration, Provisioning and Management
An ITU-T G.984.4 ONT Management Configuration Interface (OMCI) integrated in BLC GPON blades delivers centralized, standards-based configuration, provision and management for the ON 2531 ONT. Managed by OccamView EMS, the ON 2531 is up and running effortlessly, reducing operating costs and accelerating the delivery of new service that drive revenue growth. Using the Broadband Forum’s TR-101 and TR-156 recommended N:1 VLAN-per-service architecture, pre-provisioned Occam ONTs automatically ‘tap-in’ to the authorized services upon turn-up – allowing fast and efficient installation and rapid customer service activation.
Deployment Flexibility
The ON 2531 is housed in a low profile, environmentally hardened enclosure. Flexible configuration options allow for outdoor installations. Integrated wiring makes it easy to add new subscribers in as little as five minutes, delivering very rapid time to revenue. ONT electronics are in a separate replaceable module that is hinged and secured with a security tool.
Broad Range of Power Options
Occam provides a range of ONT power options—from cost-effective indoor solutions to outdoor solutions that do not require entry to the customer premise for service and maintenance. Some power options work in conjunction with utility companies to provide highly secure, direct-billed power as an alternative to network power.
