Support and Training

Quick Start Program (QSP)

Occam developed the Quick Start Program to guarantee fast and efficient network turn-up for first time deployments. The objective is to facilitate a successful installation while helping your team quickly come up to speed on the installation and provisioning of your BLC network.  It is also the intent of this program to ensure you can self sufficiently maintain your network going forward.   To accomplish a successful installation, the Occam technical staff will first review your network design and equipment lists for accuracy. After this you will complete the basic hardware installation (including cabling and power requirements). You will then receive up to two days of on-site technical support that can be customized to meet your needs.

An expert Occam technical support engineer will travel to your site and assist your staff in the installation and configuration of your first BLC blades. The engineer will provide informal hands-on training on the CLI commands, provisioning tasks, and troubleshooting tips. After completing the installation, you will have remote consultation access to an Occam technical support engineer for up to 90 days. This is to ensure that your on-going deployments go as smoothly and efficiently as possible and that questions or issues are resolved quickly.

This program also includes the delivery and setup of an Occam Support Secure Access NodeT (OSSAN). Occam will install, connect the OSSAN to the BLC network, and verify access to the Occam TAC. The OSSAN provides remote access to diagnostic tools such as specialized protocol analyzers to resolve voice, video, and data issues should they occur in your network.

When booked at the same time as the Quick Start Program, you may receive a discount for two training seats for the Occam BLC 6000 Series Installation & Operations Course. This course is offered on the East or West Coast at Occam designated training facilities and is a combined lecture and hands-on lab experience.  You will learn to configure Occam products using both the Command Line Interface and the OccamView Element Management System. You may elect to send your representatives to training before the first installation, after the first installation, or send one before and another after.

Quick Start Program benefits:

  2. Expert on-site installation support during initial deployment
  3. Formal & informal knowledge transfers to your team
